What’s your favorite physical activity?

I love going on walks with friends!

What about it do you love?

I love how after a walk with a good friend, I feel less stress, feel more calm, and also feel like I have a path forward with the challenges I’ve been facing.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Take the time to experiment to figure out what works for you.  When it comes to nutrition and fitness, the thing that works for one person won’t necessarily work for another – and the same things that one individual enjoys, another may not. If you hate it, you won’t stick to it, so find something you enjoy and that gives you results.

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Rock Climbing, Hiking, Kayaking, Snowboarding, and biking. (Sorry I can’t just pick one.)

What about it do you love?

I love all of them because they get me outside into nature and all bring a different skill to push myself. Some are a solo adventure so that I can get away and just feel free and alone (in a good way). Others are very social and amazing to experience with my close friends.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Get outside! Fitness to me is being active and doing things that I enjoy doing (it never feels like I’m exercising). Having like-minded people to enjoy nature and all the amazing things it has to offer is the most fantastic feeling ever!

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Snow skiing!

What about it do you love?

It’s exciting, challenging and gives me an excuse to get out to the mountains!  It’s so fun to challenge yourself to try different mountains or different runs.  It’s an amazing workout yet you don’t even feel like you’re working out because you’re just having fun doing something you enjoy.  It’s also something you can do on your own if you want or head out with friends and family.  I think I love it most because it never feels repetitive to me – Every time I have skied has been different depending on where I am, who I’m with, what runs I’m trying, or time of year.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Find activities that you enjoy and be sure to mix it up.  Being active or working out can feel like a chore when you’re doing something you dislike day in and day out.

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Kettlebell training and natural movement.

What about it do you love?

This kind of work out is like playing on a playground, which makes every time I go to the gym something to look forward to. It's actually fun! You can make these exercises as challenging or as easy as you want to, so there's really no excuse not to go - and you don't really feel like you need one, anyway. It's also more fun than you'd imagine to build strength this way, and it's fun to be stronger than the majority of guys that I know :)

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Consistency is key. Start with a small goal - doing something for 5 minutes every day is what forms a habit.

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Hiking, but we live in Chicago, so running.

What about it do you love?

Running is my “me time”. Simply put, it makes me a better person. It can both calm and energize. It helps me strive for something greater. It gives me time to think. It provides a daily reminder to appreciate the beauty of our world, and it helps me refocus on what’s most important in life. Best of all, it provides an opportunity to be grateful – for my health, my abilities, and the environment around me.  In part, I run because I can – and for that, I am incredibly grateful.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Listen to your body, and remember the basic principle of “all things in moderation.”

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Running

What about it do you love?

Endorphins!! And tracking my progress through new race records.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

You are never too busy to live an active lifestyle!

What’s your favorite physical activity?

It used to be water aerobics and the standard gym workouts. However, since we moved over 30 minutes from my gym it’s most recently become organic farming!

What about it do you love?

I love the fact that, while gardening, you’re intrinsically toning muscles, improving balance, stretching and soaking up some free Vitamin D - The end result is strong, tight muscles and fresh, real food! Who knew gardening could be such a great workout?!

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

I love the quote, “You can pay your farmer now or your doctor later”… I’d certainly much rather pay the farmer! Real, health-giving foods have a direct impact on one’s vitality and ability to thrive. My advice would be to spend a little more and make the extra effort to eat clean, simple, real foods – your body (and your farmer) will thank you for it!

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Hiking.

What about it do you love?

Being outdoors, seeing new places, watching the change of seasons while enjoying nature, and feeling like I’m getting a good workout in all at the same time!

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Always make it a priority, and find the time for fitness.   Nothing is more important, as once you complete the activity,  you feel so much better as a person!  Now if I could always practice what I preach!

Michelle

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Anything that involves spending time with my friends.

What about it do you love?

Catching up with my girlfriends makes me forget that I’m exercising!  Plus it also works as a great motivator because you can’t back out last minute (even if the couch is calling!)

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Schedule time to exercise in your schedule as you would any other activities.  Take that time seriously and don’t move it – schedule around it, again as you would other appointments such as doctor appointments.

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Tennis.

What about it do you love?

You can do it with friends or with pros.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Make sure what you're doing is actually fun!

What’s your favorite physical activity?

I really enjoy being pretty active overall – but I think hiking is my favorite!  If we’re talking actual exercise then it’s probably boxing or running but hiking is more exciting…

What about it do you love?

Getting to be outside and exploring all over – there is great hiking wherever you go, takes you off the beaten path

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

You don’t have to go to the gym every day or run to be active and healthy – just keep trying things until you find something you like and then you’ll wonder how you got by without doing it before!

What’s your favorite physical activity?

A combination of yoga and spinning.

What about it do you love?

I love how strong yoga makes me feel both physically and mentally. I love finding a new studio, especially when the music is extremely relaxing. Spinning on the other hand (especially at Studio Three in Chicago) is like a dance party on a bike. It's the only fun way to do cardio in my opinion!

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Always look at ingredients and care about what goes into your food! As for fitness, try different classes/exercises until you find what you love and are passionate about :)

What’s your favorite physical activity?

I can’t narrow it down to just one activity - yoga and rollerblading.  The season is very limited here in the Midwest, but paddle board yoga definitely tops the list.

What about it do you love?

I love the mind clarity and calmness that follow a good workout.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Make fitness a lifestyle choice, be active daily.  Life gets busy, you need to put time on your calendar to exercise and treat it like any other important appointment/meeting in order to stay healthy.

What’s your favorite physical activity?

Swimming.

What about it do you love?

Being in the water & getting a great work out.

If you could give one piece of advice on fitness or healthy living, what would it be?

Make time for it, no excuses, vary work outs.
