Ah, French toast! The quintessential breakfast-in-bed menu item that we all long for. But what if we told you that you can make this delicious treat grain-free?!
Let us show you how to make a golden, crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, unbelievably tasty Paleo French toast:
1 paleo sandwich loaf made from 1 pack of Simple Mills Focaccia and Sandwich Mix
1 ½ cup of almond milk
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of vanilla (optional)
2 bananas (sliced)
Bake 1 bag of Simple Mills Sandwich Loaf Mix according to the directions on the bag
Slice loaf into ½ inch sandwich bread slices
Mix almond milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla together in a large mixing bowl.
Dunk each slice of bread in the liquid and let it soak for 1 minute; If needed, flip the bread over to ensure the whole slice is soaked.
Heat a pan over medium heat with coconut oil and pan fry each slice of bread on both sides until browned.
In a separate pan, heat coconut oil and heat banana slices in coconut oil until caramelized on one side. (Both if you’re feeling extra sassy)
