Meet our Founder

Katlin Smith founded Simple Mills after cleaning up her own diet and seeing remarkable results. In 2012, Katlin was working as a management consultant, traveling often, and relying on convenient packaged foods to suit her on-the-go lifestyle. She wasn’t feeling her best and decided to switch to a primarily whole foods-based diet to see if her food choices could be to blame. To her surprise, her health improved drastically. That’s when she realized the tremendous power that food has to transform how people feel. Simple Mills was born out of a desire to help people harness the power of food to feel their best. Our people and planet beliefs guide every stage of product development, from the ingredients we choose to how we craft our recipes. Our innovation framework guides us in designing products that have the potential to advance regenerative agriculture principles.

We do this by selecting ingredients that can help diversify diets and agriculture, partnering directly with leading-edge farmers who implement regenerative principles, and developing coaching and awareness building programs in sourcing regions for our most prominent ingredients.
